Profile

Prof. P. K. Saha was born in 1956. He did his graduation in 1981 and obtained M.D. from NIMHANS Bangaluru. After working in various capacities for over 15 years in Bangalore, he decided to return to Kolkata in 2000 and joined the faculty of Institute of Postgraduate Medical Educationand Research, Kolkata. Since then he has been actively involved in original research in the Psychiatric management of Schizophrenia developed technique side-to-side to treat Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia and Refractory OCD.

This highly successful original work of Dr. Saha has proved a boon to many human beings afflicted with not able to talk for more than 2 years, 5 years.

He has propogated it very widely in India and abroad. this is more widely quoted in international journals and text books. He also played a key role in the field of Psychiatry and is now holding key faculty position as professor and Director, Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata.

He is also an active member of American Psychiatry, USA association and life member of Indian Psychiatric Society and Indian Association of Private Psychiatry and Indian Neurological Society.

He has been invited to deliver lectures by the Italian Association at Rome in 2004 , American Psychiatric Association at their annual meeting in April 2006. He has attended several national and international conferences to propogate his successful algorithm. He was also awarded senior medical fellowship award for 2001-2002. He has several publications of research work in international and national journals. He is also an outstanding teacher and an academician. Recently he got the "BEST PRINCIPAL AWARD OF THE YEAR - 2015" And the "RASHTRIYA VIDYA GAURAV GOLD MEDAL AWARD - 2015".

The Management Comittee of Silver Jubilee Research Award Fund in recognition of his outstanding original research work and services to the suffering humanity has great pleasure in selecting him from the award for the year 2012.

After serving NIMHANS, Bangalore he has now joined IPGME&R P.G. Hospital.
